With any treatments, there are always some adverse effects. Insertion of Derma fillers can lead to vascular occlusion and tissue necrosis which is the death of the surrounding tissue due to lack of blood supply. This is rare and very likely is a cannula is used to administer the Dermal filler in the most high risk area e.g. Jawline.
Is the treatment painful?
The treatments is performed with a fine needle or with single injection. Some client’s may experience little or no discomfort at all and therefore may not need any numbing treatment prior to the procedure.
Any down time?
There may be slight swelling and possibly mild bruising with the single needle injection which may last a few days or so and therefore it is recommended that the after care instructions are followed through thoroughly. Dermaplane Facial
Scrape away dead skin cells which makes the skin look dull and blocks up pores. Dermaplaning gently buffs away these dead skins cells leaving the skin clean for facials, peels, serums ad skin products to penetrate into the skin and work effectively to gain the maximum benefits of the product. Dermaplaning also removes the vellus or as it’s known, the peach fuzz hair and creates a smoother foundation of the skin for makeup to sit on.
The Procedure
The tool used for Dermaplaning the face or the treated area is a surgical blade, which the edge of the scalpel is held at a 45 degree to remove the dead skin cells, the vellus hair and the dirt accumulated on the surface of the skin. The treatment can also be followed up with a LED Photon Therapy mask which will help with th e production of the collagen.
Is the treatment painful?
Dermanplaning as well as the LED Photon Therapy mask is pain free and there is no downtime.
The Follow Up
Treatments can be carried out 3-4 weeks apart. We recommend if you are undergoing Laser hair removal treatments, a Dermaplane session at least two days prior will be beneficial.
Fat Dissolving – Aqualyx
Fast Dissolving has come a long way to where it is today. Here at Medinkx, we use Aqualyx on the face and on the body which has been clinically proven and researched to be effective and safe. Aqualyx has a great effect on the face and body. After just one session, areas such as jowls and chin can significantly appear tighter and a fatty deposits are reduced giving you a defined facial contour. Larger areas such as love handles, stomach, arms will require more sessions to achieve the desired look.
How does Aqualyx fat dissolving work?
This product is a water based solution which surrounds the cells and destroys them. The fat cells are then removed by the body’s on natural excretion process as waste.
Aqualyx Body & Face
Aqualyx has proven to be extremely effective for facial contouring. In some cases, Aqualyx itself is all that is needed to tighten and define the face structure, giving the appearance of a youthful look. The skin ages over time, as this happens the fat pads in the upper face reduce and start to break down resulting the skin to loosen and sad, which further results to jowls developing. Aqualyx removes these fatty deposits. Other areas such as double chins and the jaw line store fatty deposits which too can be removed with Aqualyx. Where stubborn body fat is an issue, Aqualyx can work well to break down the fatty tissue with a number of sessions. Usually fat pockets which are difficult to exercise off will be ideal for this treatment. Typical areas treated are the waist area, back, bra strap area, bum, arms and thighs.
The Procedure
The area treated will be wiped down with a sanitiser. We will map out the area which needs to be treated and carefully administer. Depending on the areas and the size of the area, the treatment session can be anything from 15mins through to one hour. Both cannula and single injection method can be used to administer the product.
Is the treatment painful?
Some client’s may experience some level of discomfort which is usually bearable. Before the procedure starts, client’s are given the opportunity to numb the area with an ice pack. Aqualyx is mixed with lidocaine (local anaesthetic) which makes the procedure less uncomfortable.
Any down time?
Immediately after the treatment, there will be some swelling, bruising and tenderness Some areas such as the neck, may swell for a few days or so but this varies from person to person. Eventually the swelling will subside and the area should show a reduction in fat tissue.
The Follow Up
On average, four treatments over the course 4 weeks apart is recommended to gain maximum benefits. This may differ for someone who has fat tissue. More treatments may be required for better results. In some cases, one treatment may suffice, usually this would be around the chin are where there is less fat tissue.
Microneedling & Nanoneedling
Microneedling has many benefits and is used to treat many areas for different reasons. It is primarily works on promoting the production of collagen resulting in healthier, younger looking skin. The collagen production helps iron out or minimise wrinkles. The self repair mechanism starts a process for new collagen synthesis. By piercing the multiple needles into the area the skin’s natural ability to repair itself takes place as the receptors in the area react and therefore new collagen is produced. Improvement to the skin is visible around 21-28 days.
Benefits of Microneedling:
Promotes collagen and elastin rejuvenation
Plumps up the skin an makes it firmer
Anti-aging procedure
Skin tightening
Helps to reduce scarring
Effective in minimising wrinkles
Penetrates topical solution
Reduces the visibility of broken capillaries
Helps with uneven pigmentation
The Procedure
A number of fine needles are gently swept across allowing penetration through the epidermis and creating tiny punctures on the treated area. With the skin being open, any topical product used will penetrate further increasing its efficacy. Topical such as Vit. C, Hyaluronic acid and Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP). The treatment usually lasts around 45 mins.
Is the treatment painful?
Some client’s may experience some level of discomfort which is usually bearable. Before the procedure starts, client’s are given the opportunity to numb the area with an ice pack. Different needles and depth of the needles will be discussed during the consultation. The less needles and/or the deeper the needles penetrate can result in evasive in treatment but equally more effective.
Any down time?
The Microneedling may cause tiny punctures which will d=fade few hours after the treatment. The skin may appear flush and a little pink/red straight which will subside within a day. Depending on the needles and depth there could be mild swelling and possibly bruising. The mild swelling can last a few days or so and therefore it is recommended that the after care instructions are followed through thoroughly.
The Follow Up
Each client is different and will opt for this treatment for different needs. On average, three treatments over the course 4 weeks apart is recommended to gain maximum and longevity of the benefits. This may differ for someone who has acne scarring or deep wrinkles. More treatments may be required for better results. In some cases, one treatment may suffice if it is just a matter of boosting the skin.
Platelet Rich Plasma
What is it?
This treatment uses the client’s own platelets derived from their blood to accelerate the growth factors to repair and rejuvenate tissue, ligaments and tendons and therefore it can treat a various dermalogical issues. This Includes fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage, scarring from acne and dark circles around the eyes. The PRP treatment supports and regains the loss of volume around the treated area and works to increase the collagen production as well stimulating hair growth.
PRP Facial a.k.a Vampire Face Lift
PRP Facial also known as the Vampire Face lift can be performed either by the micro-needling method or by single needle injection. Either way, the benefits for the treatment is usually immense and results are likely to visible within a few days after the treatment and over a course of 4-6 weeks. The procedure will leave the skin looking plumper, fresh, reduction in fine like and wrinkles and a smoother surface. This is done by the platelets in the plasma coagulation agents, feeding tissue the nutrients.
The Procedure
Blood is taken form the client, same as it would be if you are having a blood test, and then placed in centrifuge machine which separates and divides the white and red blood cells. The white cells, being the platelet plasma, is used on the treated area to perform the treatment.
The Follow Up
Each client is different and will opt for this treatment for different needs. More treatments may be required for better results. In some cases, one treatment may suffice if it is just a matter of boosting the skin.
PRP for Hair Loss
PRP used for Hair loss is a safe and non-evasive hair restoration procedure with minimum downtime. With the combination of the client’s plasma and using injectable needles, the treatment is performed on the scalp, injecting into the inter-dermal layer, activating gowth factors and promoting hair growth. The role in which the growth factors play is to either minimise the hair loss by slowing the process down and/or aid with the hair growth.
The Follow Up
Each client is different as it will depend on the client’s hair condition. On average, four to eight treatments over the course of four weeks apart is recommended to gain maximum benefits. Hair growth will vary form person to person but usually around the sixth month mark, some significance hair growth may be apparent.
